Tapeska is an ethical marketplace that offers products from vendors that are members of the Fair Trade Association–all of our handmade products support fair and livable wages for artisans and craftsmen; certified B-Corporations–audited for best practices in sustainability, and transparent in their quality testing and raw materials sourcing, earning certifications in child safety, forestry management, low emissions or recycled resources.

We care about people as much as the planet and offer full product lines that are plastic-free and/or free from single-use plastics. Many of our vendors upcycle their raw materials to create safe, clean, sustainable new products for consumer use.

We are transparent about the types of certifications each product or vendor holds, the ingredients and materials used, and whether a product is entirely plastic or toxin-free or not, living in our values and following California Proposition 65 which requires toxin-exposure reporting. We specifically source products from trustworthy vendors with similar values in sustainability and ethics, as we deeply believe that the comfort of one home should not compromise another.

The home should be a place of comfort–guilt-free, toxin-free, and sustainability-forward.

Tapeska is a 100% Black-owned, woman-owned, queer-owned business. Supporting us directly supports efforts to advance research and development into sustainability, fair living wages, and ethical production.

Despite having a diverse background, Tapeska Ethical Marketplace does not favor any one race, ethnicity or creed above any other. Our vendors stem backgrounds from across the globe (Caucasian, Asian and Pacific Islander, Hispanic, Black, Indian, etc.), but are geographically-localized to the United States and Canada for optimal logistics.

Every order is carbon neutral–on us–with an option to contribute to carbon-offsetting. One day, Tapeska hopes to open a 100% electric and wind-powered manufacturing facility, fully automated with well-paid humans at the helm, creating products that are carbon negative, made from 100% US-sourced raw materials, designed by the best and brightest from around the globe.
