Subscriptions Policy

What is a subscription order?

Our subscription program lets you receive eligible products automatically on a recurring schedule, so you never run out of your everyday essentials. Subscription orders are created using the delivery frequency you choose (for example, every 1, 3, or 6 months) and are billed automatically using your saved payment method.

Subscriptions are currently available for select replenishment products only, such as cleaning items, scrub brushes, and bath & body products. You will see “Subscribe & Save” options on product pages that qualify.

Who can place subscription orders?

Subscription orders are available only to customers with a registered Tapeska account. Guest checkout is not available for subscriptions at this time.

Our subscription program is currently offered to customers within the United States only. International customers are not able to sign up for subscription orders.

How do subscription plans and discounts work?

When you subscribe to an eligible product, you will choose one of the available delivery frequencies (for example, every 1, 3, or 6 months). Each frequency may come with different savings compared to our one-time purchase price, and any available savings will be clearly shown on the product page and at checkout.

Any subscription discount shown at the time you sign up will apply to your initial order and all future auto-orders for that subscription, unless we let you know otherwise. The specific discount amounts and available delivery frequencies may change for new subscriptions over time, but these changes will not automatically affect existing subscriptions without notifying you.

How does billing work for subscriptions?

Your default payment method on file will be charged automatically on each renewal date for the items in your subscription, plus applicable taxes and shipping. Taxes and shipping are calculated at each billing cycle based on your delivery address and current rates.

If a payment attempt fails, our system will automatically attempt to charge the same payment method up to two more times. These retry attempts occur approximately every 5 days. If all attempts fail, your subscription will be paused and you will be notified by email so you can update your payment details.

Do subscription orders qualify for free shipping?

Subscription orders do not qualify for free shipping, even if the value of the subscription meets or exceeds our free shipping thresholds for one-time purchases. Each subscription renewal will include any applicable shipping charges, which will be clearly displayed at checkout before your order is processed.

What payment methods can I use, and what happens if my payment fails?

You must maintain a valid payment method on file in your Tapeska account in order to keep your subscription active. You can update your payment details at any time through your account’s subscription management portal.

If your payment fails, we will notify you and automatically retry the charge up to two more times, about 5 days apart. After the final failed attempt, your subscription will be paused, and no further orders will be created until you update your payment method and manually resume the subscription from your account.

Can I skip, pause, or cancel my subscription?

Yes. You can skip, pause, or cancel your subscription at any time through your Tapeska account or by contacting us directly via chatbot or email. There are no sign-up fees or cancellation penalties.

To avoid being charged for your next delivery, you must skip, pause, or cancel before the upcoming renewal date shown in your account and in your reminder email. If you skip a scheduled order, your next renewal will move to the following cycle (for example, one additional 1-, 3-, or 6-month period).

What if the price of my subscribed product changes?

Product prices are subject to change over time. If there is a material price change for a product you are subscribed to, we will pause your subscription for that item and notify you by email. You will be given the option to review the new price and either resume your subscription at the updated rate or cancel it.

Your subscription will remain paused until you choose to resume or cancel. We will not continue to bill you automatically at a higher price without giving you the chance to confirm.

What happens if my subscribed item is out of stock?

If a subscribed product is temporarily out of stock when your order is scheduled to renew, we will delay billing and attempt to fulfill the order again. Our system will retry fulfillment up to 5 times, approximately every 3 days, while we wait for the product to become available.

If we are still unable to fulfill your order after these attempts, that specific subscription order will be skipped and you will receive a notification. You will not be billed for skipped subscription orders due to out-of-stock inventory, and your subscription will continue toward the next scheduled cycle as usual.

When will I receive emails about my subscription?

You will receive subscription-related emails at key moments so that you always know what is happening with your orders. These may include notifications when you start a new subscription, when a renewal is coming up, when a payment fails or is retried, and when your subscription is skipped, paused, resumed, or canceled.

In particular, you will receive a reminder email about 5 days before each renewal so you can review your upcoming order and decide if you want to skip, pause, or cancel. You will also receive an email when your subscription order begins processing on your renewal date and when any payment failure occurs or is resolved.

How long do subscriptions last, and what if my subscription stays paused?

Subscriptions continue until you choose to cancel them, or until they are automatically canceled after a long period of inactivity. If your subscription is paused (for example, due to repeated payment failures or by your choice) and remains paused for 18 months, we will treat it as inactive.

Before canceling an inactive paused subscription, we will email you about 5 days in advance to let you know that your subscription is scheduled to be canceled unless you resume it. If you take no action, the subscription will be automatically canceled. After cancellation, you will receive a confirmation email, and no further charges or renewals will occur.

How do returns and refunds work for subscription orders?

If you want to avoid being charged, the best option is to skip, pause, or cancel your subscription before the next renewal date. If your subscription order has already begun processing, it may no longer be eligible for a full refund unless it is returned and accepted by the product manufacturer.

Subscription items that have been delivered can generally be returned within 14 days of delivery, in line with our standard return policy. Tapeska will cover return shipping costs for eligible subscription returns initiated through our self-serve return portal, which is available through your customer account. Some items may be clearly labeled as non-refundable (for example, certain opened, used, damaged, or final sale products), and those items are not eligible for return or refund.

What about my data and payment information?

By signing up for a subscription, you authorize Tapeska and our payment partners to store and use your payment method to process recurring subscription charges according to the schedule and terms displayed at checkout and in your account. We use secure, industry-standard payment processing and do not share your payment details with third parties except as needed to complete your transactions.

You can update or remove your saved payment methods at any time in your account. If you remove all valid payment methods, your subscriptions may be paused until you add a new one.
